I am Max, one of the rock cousins and I come from the family of metamorphic rocks.  Life in this family is pretty hard because we go through great changes.

We start out as an igneous or sedimentary rock.  But things change.   We may be buried in the earth, and as we are pushed deeper underground, the heat of the earth and pressure around us change us. We become harder and stronger. We become metamorphic rocks. Sometimes we are pushed back above ground.

Come and meet some of us!
