One of our second grade teachers, Liisa Talso, had the opportunity to work for six months at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. She worked there during the Antarctic summer of 2000/2001.
McMurdo Station was established in 1956 and is located on Ross Island. It is the largest community in the Antarctic.
