Staff/Student Population  About Our Students Kindergarten – 5th grade 393 Preschool & Head Start 35 Average Daily Attendance 96% Parent-Teacher Conferences Participation 90% ESL Students 9% Special Education Students 16.6% Gifted (SAGE & MERLIN Programs) 22% Free/Reduced Priced Meals Students 20.5% Student Mobility: New students 9/00 – 3/01 5% About Our Staff Apollo has 21 teachers, 12 support staff (librarian, speech therapist, etc.) and 24   classified staff (educational assistants, secretaries, cooks, etc.).  Most of our  certificated staff have Masters degrees.  Staff participate in ongoing training and they present at local and state educational conferences.  As part of our four year partnership with the Northwest Initiative for Teaching and Learning, we have been recognized for staff development that focuses on examining student performance and classroom practices. Apollo was built in 1969 and completely remodeled in 1996. The additions to the building that were added during the remodel have created many new opportunities for students and community: •  the large stage has held grade level plays, orchestra practice and the PTA Variety Show; •  the library and music room are among the most spacious in the district; •  the gym, soccer and baseball fields are used regularly by community youth teams; •  the computer lab is used regularly by all classes.
